    verbal accupuncture
figured i'd write something, but now i'm having some sort of writers block. not that it matters anyway. i've been working a lot, not drinking as much, and some how i'm managing to pay stuff off, but still unable to save cash. oh well. i'm sure tonight i'll do the same thing i always do...have a beer or 18. that is unless i get called into work at the last minute as always. i don't really mind going in, but everybody needs a day off...especially from doing midnights. i also haven't been sleeping much. was thinking of taking some melatonin supplements to help myself sleep. or i can just stay up all night and play world of warcraft and rethink my life. i wrote a 9 page note for sarah...yeah she read it in like 4 seconds. nice, now i'll have to write a longer one to keep her entertained.

i don't need any salt to season up my name..

    time to do stuff.

coming to you directly from mesquite tavern
Lately I've had way too many song ideas and I can't seem to keep up with recording them. I come up with one and in the middle of recording it I come up with another, and another, and another, etc. I suppose this surge of creativity isn't a bad thing and thank god I don't have to go into a studio to record because it would get really expensive. Hopefully I will be able to turn out a product that is almost worth listening to.

A nurse at work has asked me to get "information" on one of my co-workers. Meaning that she digs him and wants me to do the high school thing and see if he has a girlfriend, what he likes, yada yada. I agree to do so because her lazy eye had put me into a trance of sorts. Now she is added to my facebook and is blowing up my wall. You would think that I have made a mistake by adding her but on the contrary, I now have a ton of her email messages in my inbox regarding her messing around with a married man, who is now a jerk to her, and is left wondering "what went wrong". Those emails shall be posted shortly I assure you.

I also have come to the realization that I am falling behind in the world of technology. For example, many people now use a thing called twitter. I am signed up to use this twitter thing, but fail to understand it. It could come from a lack of desire to learn it or I could be preoccupied with my facebook status. You decide.

    jack be nipple
talking to e.a. henson earlier this week made me well aware of the fact that since i've been living alone i have had a bunch of project/hobbie ideas, but have failed to complete them. i get everything ready, but it just kind of falls apart. oh well.

tomorrow i have my 2nd interview for a 2nd job. this job will allow me to reconnect to the world via interwebs. it's a good thing too because sitting at home and watching the create channel is getting really boring.

tonight at work i went through my myspace inbox and found that there was 86 pages of messages. i deleted most of them, but kept these messages from this girl i had sex with at MSU one night. they were classic. maybe i'll re-post them at a later date.

next month i'm definitely taking a saturday night off and hitting the town. i feel a bar night is well deserved since i really don't do much anymore besides work and school. i want to go check out the new bookies in detroit. i hear it's rather nice. also, if there's a tigers game going on, the detroit pub sells pbr for $1. very nice.

i suppose i should get back to work, or maybe sleep.

    nothing can grow without rain
I haven't made a post in ages so I thought I would give it a go.

So, living by yourself has definitely been an experience. I've only been in my apartment since July and time seems to have flown by, but at the same time I feel like it hasn't been but 3 months or so. Could my apartment actually be the island on Lost where it can travel through time? Maybe. It's probably a good thing that I'm single while experiencing this "growth period." Although, I do drink by myself quite often. I could go to the bar, but it's a lot cheaper and much safer to do it at home.

Work has been nothing short of sub-par. I've worked every type of shift within the last 3 months. I'm supposed to be on the midnight schedule, but have been working 6am shifts, 3pm, shifts, 11pm shifts, etc. Money is money and I'm glad I have a job. Although, all work and no play does suck. I'm hoping to use some of my vacation time this year to take a week off and do something fun.

In 2 months the swimming pool will be open. Nothing like going for a dip in the cement pond to start off the summer. Then afterward head off to the apartment and drink a nice cold Oberon on the balcony.

In other news, The BrownSound will be releasing a new song in a few weeks. It was actually recorded live at Jamboozzies on 3/6/2009. The recording came out very well and I guess somebody video taped the show so hopefully we can post that up as well.

I haven't been able to pull myself away from listening to the album "the pros and cons of hitch hiking" by Roger Waters. I highly suggest it. Eric Clapton plays on it as well. I have also been listening to too much Primus and Pink Floyd. I guess you really can't get enough of that junk.

I need to purchase a new digital camera finally. Mine recently crapped out on me. Bummer.

That about concludes my post and hopefully I'll have something more interesting to post about in the near future.

    i need a cat scan
i'm sick and i'm at work for the 8th day in a row. no big deal because the paycheck's are nice. i was just reading through an old journal i had under the name jones_crusher. what a pretty depressing 2 years that was. at least things are better. well, tomorrow i have a day off and i also have a lot of beer that needs to be in my stomach. if i can make it through the remaining 7.5 hours of work i'll be okay.

also, i don't think dayQuil does a damn thing. i'm convinced that only medicine that makes you drowsy will actually work for you.

    oh yeah, and this:

Come out for Mike Saliba’s birthday party! $5 pitchers and food specials. Live entertainment by The Brown Sound and others. A live cd will be recorded that nite so be sure to get really drunk and put on your analrapist hats! Lets make this better than the beard party!

check out the brown sound for more information.

    what's happenin' blood?
So I found some new dj equipment I'm going to be purchasing soon. God bless ebay. I'l be saving around $400 instead of throwing it away at a store. I'll have to start inquiring at a place to spin now. I'll probably start small like northern lights lounge, berts on broadway, and maybe bookies. I could probably get something in royal oak or ferndale too.

    Should be fun.

    prima aspectus
So I have just recently acquired a second job again. I will be waiting tables at a place called "tin fish." It's fairly expensive and slightly swanky. I really have no interest in having 2 jobs again, but beaumont cut my hours back quite a bit. I find that there are actually only a few constants and the rent being due on the 1st is one of them. Should I get a call from one of the open positions I applied for I would gladly quit tin fish. I'm really hoping to get the job as a nurse assistant on 8 center. It would be 3 12 hour days per week and a slight pay increase. I would only be in that position until next may and then I'll be state certified and moved into the emergency room as a tech. I guess I should go up to that unit tomorrow and ask who the hiring manager is and explain that I want that job, can do that job, and will do whatever it takes to get it...and I mean whatever it takes.

    Back to work I suppose.

    revisiting a previous idea
Once again I have been thinking of that "fan film" idea. I think I am actually pretty interested in it. I would actually rather make mini-series about something instead of just a movie and attempt to broadcast it over the internet for the viewing pleasure of others. e.a. Henson and i kicked around an idea a long time ago, but never got it off the ground. I did manage to put together a model of the U.S.S. Enterprise A, but then decided to light it on fire.

First of all, I don't know anything about writing a script. If I was to come up with I wanted to write about, I wouldn't know where to start. I know I definitely would want it to be in the science fiction realm.

Next, how would I create it visually. I know nothing of making/inventing models. I think it would be fun to learn that stuff. Making a set would also pose a problem. Where would I build it and where would I film on it. Rent out a storage space? I don't know.

The special effects part would be fun to do. I mean you can't go wrong with blowing stuff up and imagining you're shooting lasers out of a gun. That would be the fun part. I also know that there's editing involved and blah, blah, blah. I would definitely want it to touch on all aspects of humanity.

Even though I don't have any experience in this, I think it would be a fun project to start researching and writing. Who knows, maybe I could make something cool.

    Now, where to start...

    and another thing...
I believe that the title of "dj" is being thrown around too easily. Just because you have a laptop full of music, a mixer, a microphone, and you play music for people at a bar doesn't mean you're a dj. You're just a human jukebox. I understand that there is an order as to what music should be played at certain times. You could just as easily do that at home by making a playlist on your itunes, plug in and click play, and then throw in requests from people. That does not make you a dj. Now, you could get away with using dual cd players with tempo control and a mixer and be called a dj. That's fine. I've done it and millions do also. However, using actual turntables and records should be what earns somebody with the title of "dj". A while back, I was the proud owner of 2 technic 1210's and tons of records. I also "spun" at a few parties and clubs. Therefore, I can use the "dj" title with some respect. If I had the money I would go buy a new mixer and some turntables again and start spinning at clubs just to tell those posers "I'm again a dj...you are not."

    End rant.

waiting for the sun to rise and burn everything in its path
Trying to kill time while you're only an hour into your shift is the fucking worst. Waiting for that sun to come up takes forever. Well, it seems that way at least. Usually the nite/morning goes by pretty fast until I get back from lunch at 330. That's when it really starts to drag.

One good thing about working tonight is that when I come in tomorrow at 6pm it will be all overtime. The supervisors will probably tell me that I have to go home and schedule me a different day because of it. Gay.

Halloween is friday. I get to work because my coworkers all have kids and the supervisors felt bad and decided that I can work on my day off because I don't have children. That's just stupid. Just because they can't either close their legs or keep their dicks out of a chick doesn't mean I should suffer. Bah. That's why I'm not having children. Not only is it a burden on yourself, but it is a burden on the rest of the world.

Since it's getting close to thanksgiving I figured I would dust off National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. It may be a little early for that, but its one of those holiday movies that I just can't wait to throw in the dvd player.

Well there isn't much more I can think to write about so I guess ill wait until my break is over to update again to pass the time.

    please hammer...don't hurt 'em
Being stuck at work today isn't really where I want to be, but the rent is always due so I might as well make some money. Tomorrow I'm on from 11pm to 730am. At least I have internets on my phone so I can keep busy.

27 years of age. I've made it to the late 20's. If my scholastic plan goes well I will have a new job next may and a state certification to back it up. Then I will just have to figure out if I want to remain in this state or not. It's not like I would be leaving because I'm some starving artist or that this state wouldn't be able to provide me with a job. I guess I'll have to just run out my lease and see how it all unfolds for me. One thing is for sure, I definitely want to have my car paid off by the time I do any of that. I don't think that will be a problem. Also, I don't have a lot of stuff I would need to pack up either.

Now that lunch is over, its back to the emergency room for me.

    it's your world
so i'm coming back from detroit in about 5 hours. i'm not really looking forward to it, but things should take a turn for the better once i get back. i should be able to pull in some more cash and tie up some loose ends for maybe a year and then move out of the state. i'm not wanting to move because of the economy, or for the starving artist thing(gay), or because there's a ton of people moving away. i'm doing it to satisfy a need to travel and see some of the countryside. i'll eventually make my way back to detroit because well, it's fucking detroit.

i should throw a party. one where people can come over, get hammered off of a keg for 3 bucks or so, and listen to some music that's either live or on an ipod or something. plus i'm sure there would be some sweet fucking pictures.

i think i'll be booking another show after the first week in november because i'll be working a lot for the next 3 weeks and half the band will be in vegas for the first week in november.

this month i approach the late 20's. when i look back at the pictures from the last 5 years i think "whoooooaa...what was i thinking". not because some of the girls i'm pictured with are less than sub-par, but because of all of the crazy shit that went down. at least that's out of my system and i don't have to just start experiencing it later on in life. well, time to soak up the remaining rays of sun and warmth i'll have until winter break.

i am currently in las vegas. the weather is perfect. i am listening to way too much primus. what does that mean?

i never want to come back and i want to be able to play like les claypool.

i'll do a bigger update later.

the meek shall inherit the afterbirth
    update time.

i played at jacoby's on friday. god damn we were just terrible. it actually wasn't any fault of ours though. ricks guitar had some sort of malfunction. we thought it was his amp, but it was just his guitar. later, i took it apart and found that a wire had become loose and all we have to do is solder it and it will be as good as new.

during our "performance" i noticed a girl standing at the back of the club. sweet jesus it was margaret. margaret was the first girl i was ever in love with blah blah blah. she is now 32 with a kid and i believe is married. we talked for a few hours and it was really weird. she seemed very unhappy with this marriage, kid, life thing and somehow by the grace of whatever, i have surpassed her in maturity. that's just wrong. i shouldn't be allowed to pass anybody in maturity. although the show went bad and there were random strange events that happened, it wasn't too shabby i guess. also, we recorded it live and it is just god awful. the quality of the recording is great, but the music blows. however, the extra curricular noises and yelling made it funny.

thursday morning i leave for las vegas to visit my mom and to go to a wedding. that should be fun i suppose. i just need to clear the head for a few days and then i'll be back to the grind in full force.

i think it's about time that i purchase a computer because i'm slowly becoming very bored with life. in the past, i've had a few ideas that would keep me busy:
    - make a low budget star trek fan film
    - video podcast
    - make an album (in progress)
    - throw another party

now that i look at it, that's really not a lot of things to keep me busy. at least it's a start.

the last one on the list really grabs my attention. i've been wanting to throw a big party for a while now, but have not had a place to do this at. i'd prefer not to rent out a place, but if need be i suppose i will.

also, i really want to play star trek online when it comes out just so i can customize my own starship.

19 weeks since the last update...time for a new one
i suppose that it's about time for an update. i would delve into my own life and let everybody know what's going on, but that's just boring and pointless, so let's get to the fun stuff.

i'm not understanding why people sign up for college courses and then just drop them. i do understand that they might just sign up to stay on their parents insurance and then get the money back when they drop. The thing that really bothers me is that they take up the parking spots and i have to walk a mile to class. i'm not saying i don't like exercise, but i walk 8-12 miles a day at work.

oct 2nd i'm flying to vegas for my cousins wedding. i'm hoping to see the valley of fire and maybe drive up to utah to see zion national park. i've heard it's quite nice.

it's been a while since i've been out to the bars because i'm on the midnight shift at work (11pm - 7:30am). it's pretty rough getting used to drinking a beer after work at 8am, but at least i'm saving money by not going to the bar.

i guess there's a new MMORPG game coming out....star trek online. it doesn't sound too bad from what i've read. you can pick your species, man your own ship, customize your own ship, etc. the only bad thing about that game is that it will be in direct competition with WoW which has taken over the realm of MMORPG games. good luck star trek.

speaking of star trek, the new movie comes out this year. i haven't seen any new previews for it yet. hopefully it's an ok flick.

rolling stone has released the top 500 albums of all time. the list is just down right stupid, but then again that's only my opinion. here's the top 20:

    1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles
    2. Pet Sounds, The Beach Boys
    3. Revolver, The Beatles
    4. Highway 61 Revisited, Bob Dylan
    5. Rubber Soul, The Beatles
    6. What's Going On, Marvin Gaye
    7. Exile on Main Street, The Rolling Stones
    8. London Calling, The Clash
    9. Blonde on Blonde, Bob Dylan
    10. The Beatles ("The White Album"), The Beatles
    11. The Sun Sessions, Elvis Presley
    12. Kind of Blue, Miles Davis
    13. Velvet Underground and Nico, The Velvet Underground
    14. Abbey Road, The Beatles
    15. Are You Experienced?, The Jimi Hendrix Experience
    16. Blood on the Tracks, Bob Dylan
    17. Nevermind, Nirvana
    18. Born to Run, Bruce Springsteen
    19. Astral Weeks, Van Morrison
    20. Thriller, Michael Jackson

i probably wouldn't have put nirvana in there at all. they were good for what they did which was cleanse the music industry of cock-rock hair-metal bullshit. however, now that the great purge is over we seem to be back in the same situation. i'm just wondering what the next big thing will be. i hate to say it, but i almost would rather have the boy bands back instead of these homo's that play the same riff over and over and sing the same lyrics about some fucked up girl and try to be mysterious or witty with their lyrics. what happened to good old fashion rock and roll? these guys need to write something that actually has meaning. i mean look at Van Morrison. very soulful.

well i don't have much more to write about at this time until tomorrow after my show.

oh here's a good deal from jamboozies at 18 1/2 and van dyke. it's especially good for ladies.

So I am once again starting to get ill. The sinus drainage is starting to attack my throat like an internet predator on some jail-bait. I just hope it doesn't turn into pneumonia again.

Although, being sick has allowed me to practice more which is definitely needed. Im looking forward to doing the festival on july 12th. The first 50 people to buy a ticket from us once they're on sale will get to come back to my house for free kegs, dancing, and food. Staying the night will be encouraged. Hopefully the after party will be available on the internets ha. Finally..something to look forwared to this summer.

Also, if anybody has any ideas for a cool t-shirt design/slogan just pass it my way.
